The first International Tehran Contemporary Music Festival (TCMF) will be held as an independent art event on April 23 to 28, 2016 with support of Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance music office, Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, Rudaki Foundation, Iranian Artist Forum, Institute of Contemporary Art, Spectro Center, Afra Kelk Aseman Cultural Art Institute, and Lajevardi Foundation, at Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA), Rudaki Foundation, and Iranian Artist Forum.
The organizer of festival invites artists, music groups, associations and active Iranian and international enthusiasts in field of contemporary music to participate in the art event.
The first edition of the festival includes three sections. The first section is dedicated to stage performance, which is organized in two Iranian and international groups and includes performances in forms of solo, duets, musical ensemble, orchestra and choral.
Second section will address muical improvisation, aiming at establishing artistic and cultural interactions among enthusiasts of the field.
The last section of the event will cover research presentations and meetings, the aim of which is studying contemporary music with specific approach to develop knowledge and culture on modern music trends, analyzing history of contemporary music as well as introducing and analyzing Iranian and international composers’ pieces.
The first edition of the festival will be held in a non-competitive manner by inviting active Iranian and international groups in field of contemporary music.
